Lecture
This week lecture we look at about what we going to do in EXP2 and a short clips about what happen after human disappear. It was quite helpful for understand how the building crumble after many years in different envirnoment and make me think about using different texture for the change of time periodChurch of Light
This building is one of the most famous designs of Japanese architect Tadao Ando. Tadao Ando often uses Zen philosophies when conceptualizing his
structures. One theme he expresses in this work is the dual nature of
existence. The space of the chapel is defined by light, the strong
contrast between light and solid. In the chapel light enters from behind
the altar from a cross cut in the concrete wall that extends vertically
from floor to ceiling and horizontally from wall to wall, aligning
perfectly with the joints in the concrete. At this intersection of light
and solid the occupant is meant to become aware of the deep division
between the spiritual and the secular within himself or herself.
21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art
The museum was designed by Japanese architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa of the architect office SANAA in 2004. The exhibition areas comprise numerous
galleries with multiple options for division, expansion, or
concentration. The galleries are of various proportions and light
conditions – from bright daylight through glass ceilings to spaces with
no natural light source, . The
circulation spaces are designed to make them usable as additional
exhibition areas.
Sao Paulo Museum
The architect Lina Bo Bardi
and engineer José Carlos Figueiredo Ferraz chose both alternatives.
They conceived an underground block as well as a sustained structure,
which would stand eight meters above the floor, with the use of four
pillars connected by two huge concrete beams. Underneath those beams
there lay what was considered a boldness, meaning a free space of 74
meters between the pillars and underneath the beams
